Willy,

WOW!!!!!

I jumped on the asic bandwagon because I was being passed as if I were standing still. I picked up a few asic miners bur did not convert any of my cpu / gpu based projects to bitcoin utopia.

I "accidentally" ran across your modification a couple of days ago.

WOW!!!!!

Minor issue (as the screen problem with the title I mentioned earlier), but probably something to think about:

I don't have/haven't used any ASIC devices, but there is still a huge number of points for Bitcoin Utopia on my team, which I doubt were racked up with CPU/GPU alone...

I picked up a few asic miners bur did not convert any of my cpu / gpu based projects to bitcoin utopia.

Reading these comments makes me think that the stats title "BOINC combined without ASIC" is a little bit wrong, because Bitcoin Utopia is excluded as a whole from the stats. This surely is/was the main goal for the most users which requested that, but BU also contains CPU/GPU credits, which of course cannot be separated from the ASIC ones.
So it should be called "BOINC combined without Bitcoin Utopia" more or less.

That's what I assumed the intention was, but if you click the "BOINC combined without ASIC" stats link for my account or team, Bitcoin Utopia still shows up. That's where my comment about the high amount of credit came from, I assumed that ASIC credit was supposed to be somehow excluded from CPU/GPU credit.

What link? Can you show where?
Maybe I'm missing or oversee something, but it's more or less a pain to search for any name or team through the non-ASIC-section without any clue.
The team or user stats are not linked with their counterparts in the non-ASIC-section - maybe this is also something to add and give it more transparency.

Well, you surely know that at the moment there is no possible way to do so. No project can (yet) provide any info if the credit is awarded for CPU, GPU or ASIC work.

I see four entries, two that are listed as "BOINC combined" and two as "BOINC combined without ASIC" but if you click on the detailed stats for the non-ASIC listing, Bitcoin Utopia is still there. The "noderaser" with the profile is the current listing, the other is a split entry because QMC is doing something funky.

Ah, I see...
Hm, well, Bitcoin Utopia may be still listed also in your non-ASIC-profile but the value isn't added to the Combined there.
Same for me (and everyone else I guess), I have way more BU credits than combined already on this page...
If these pages should exclude BU also than Willy has to code a bit more.

Since Donate@home is no longer accessible, this is the closest documented explanation that I can still find.

Dear Verlyol,

Donate@At home, though also run by us, is a quite distinct project from GPUGrid, and we've made some changes to that website to make it clearer. It's a side experiment for us, which may also have the happy benefit of providing some funding towards the expensive business of running our lab.
On a practical level it has also already provided some very useful experience in deploying OpenCL and AMD applications that will be directly useful in future GPUGrid developments.

By no means should you feel compelled to volunteer for it, if it's not of interest to you. There's a whole spectrum of projects in the distributed computing world, some scientific, some not. It's right that you should contribute your compute cycles to something that interests you.

We are immensely grateful to all of our GPUGrid volunteers without whom we would not be able to undertake our ambitious scientific programme.

Hello, I'm relatively new to the community user who is also concerned about Bitcoin Utopia screwing all Boinc statistics.

I see the tab "BOINC combined without ASIC" on a left side of the page, what really helps to clarify ranking for users and teams, but what about Countries?

Also is there any option to have "BOINC combined without ASIC" as default for "My detailed stats" page?

I implemented this, will go live when the new webcode is ready.
