As you can see BAM! is trying to (automagically) detach from these 2 projects since they are retired. It's trying now for several days, but the 2 projects however stay on this host. As far as I can remember I did use BAM! to attach to these projects. This host is on BOINC-manager version 13.1, Win 7 Home SP1 64-bit.
I know I can very easily detach from the projects by doing it my self, but hey, why shouldn't BAM! do it for me

As you can see in de XML the detach command is given. The host is ignoring it. What is the client version?

That's a development version. You should be addressing this problem to the BOINC devs.

Good point about the dev-version. I downgraded another host to BOINC 6.12.33, synced with BAM! but the 2 projects are still in the project-list:

The <detach/> is still there and then it's up to the host to detach. I can't send another command to convince it.

Anybody else with this problem, if yes, please post your client version.

Boinc version 6.12.26, two hosts running WinXP 32bit. BAM-IDs 310371 and 313263.

Hydrogen detached successfully, but AQUA is still there.

Detaching Aqua worked with 6.10.18 (Windows Server 2003, 64bit) and 6.10.56 (Ubuntu 64bit).

Is it possible that a split host-cpid is blocking the command? Both machines have been reinstalled the last months. My host list contains 40 (!) hosts, in real there are ~10, some real, some vm's.

Definitely not.

Communications with BAM! use the host-authenticator. CPID is not used. But even if CPID is used, you can clearly see the <detach /> in the XML that was send to the host. It's there, the host should detach.
