Hi out there,
last days i setup a pc to let it crunch a little bit.
I put opensuse 11.2 x86_64 on it, installed the newest 10.2 catalyst driver for the ATI hd 5870, installed the ati stream sdk 2.01. All this stuff worked pretty good.
So I thought, let's crunch a little bit, put the newest boinc 6.10.36 on it, all worked good but the graphics card was not detected.
So i tried the ati stream sdk if it detects, and really it does either with CAL or OpenCL.
i changed cc_config.xml to let coproc_debug set to 1.
The Output in boincmgr then changed and an extra line with
No usable CAL devices found
appeared.
I installed the boinc sources then to have a look.
Seems that in coproc_detect.c the number of devices is not detected right. Although you are using the same CAL routines as Ati does (and which detects the card).
I only could imagine that the wrapper stuff that is used to keep the file usable for either windows, linux or macos could matter.
As i don't want to install a Windows on this PC, i'd appreciate your help to get this running
Thanks for your work
keep on crunching
Wolf
