Boincstats is removing a net 14M credits today. Can anyone help me figure out why this is?

I have also noticed negative credits for the last 2 days.

December 18, 2018 is showing negative -1,425,711 credits.
December 19, 2018 is showing negative -328,853 credits.

I also noticed that LHC@Home is no longer listed in the project list.

Yes, same issue here. Despite very healthy credits, they actually show up as negatives. Also spotted in the worldwide (and national) rank listings that about 99% of users have dropped position. Didn't scroll to the next page but assumed the same

It appears that others are having the same issue. Someone pointed out in the forum listed at the bottom of this post that the einsteinathome.org had recently enforced privacy policy's that was believed to have caused the loss of credits by not allowing exporting of account data. After additional research, my negative credits are indeed from the project above as well as the lhcathome.cern.ch project. Both my negative numbers match my accumulated credit for those two projects. I will now allow export of my data and will see if that corrects my stats within a couple of days.

Here is a news post from einsteinathome.org warning users about the change.

Here is where to change the privacy preferences from the einstein@home project

Here is a post at the lhcathome.cern.ch site with similar info from their recent upgrade
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=4901#37586

EDIT: lhcathome.cern.ch has disabled this requirement and is now showing up in my projects list. Will have to see if the credit returns to stats.

Same issue in the bug section of this forum:

Please see the dialog posted on: Index :: BOINCstats Bug Report :: Albert@home issue

I believe it will address the issues posted on this thread. While history may be lost your work unit credits may be reinstalled.

Hello all!

This is my first post in this forum.
I am using translate.google, so I am asking for your understanding.
I am 60 years old but I remember ZX80 and my first ZX Spectrum 48K!

I am counting from 12/2014 for science, competitions and for pleasure.
The last days (18/12/2018 and 19/12/2018) have disturbed me a bit. I lost 2,000,000 of my credits. I noticed that almost 30,000 people have also lost over 1,000,000 of their credits.
Fortunately, I remained calm and did what I needed.
I kept quiet but maybe some people are and remain very . Maybe some people because of that they stopped counting. Not everyone is interested in GDPR. They just want to count and compete.
I think that a lot of time will pass before everything returns to normal.

For all those who for this reason have lost the sense of counting and competition, I present my humble step-by-step guide for those who lost their credits at BoincStats.

1. go to the website: boincstats.com
2. read the following message carefully: Statistics export consent,
3. check whether you count for one or several of the listed projects (probably yes),
4. login to your boincstats account,
5. check (My detailed stats -> tab: Project list), which of your project is missing (probably one or more of the above mentioned message),
6. go one at a time to the website(s) of project(s) that you count and which are NOT in the Project list of your account at boincstats.com,
7. login to these project website(s) -> find Account or My account -> go to Preferences,
8. in the project(s) preferences in the section or the Privacy tab, select YES next to DO you consent to exporting your data to BOINC statistics aggregation Web sites ?: or something similar,
9. SAVE preferences,
10. WAIT two or more days patiently ... and your credits will be returned to your account at boincstats.com!
In my case, my credits came back and I'm very happy to return to Club 99.

Greetings.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and of course return your lost credits to your accounts.

I understand your frustration.
Since May 2018 the European Union has demanded that we consent to sharing of our data. It is known as GDPR.
Some BOINC projects have implemented this directive - also some projects which are not based in Europe.
If a project is missing from your statistics, log-on to that project and give your consent in your project setup.
Here is a thread to known projects with GDPR.
I do hope that contributors who are interested in statistics are also interested in the projects which feed their statistics.
