24 cores vs. 16 cores

here is the deal, I have 2 machines on which I am running projects. The one with more cores, average credit seems less than satisfactory.

1. workstation, Intel Xeon e5-2665 (16 cores) 2.4ghz, 32gb memory quad bank, Windows 7, average credit 16,299
2. server, Intel Xeon E5645 (24 cores) 2.4ghz, 24gb memory quad bank, Windows Server 2008R2, average credit 3,664

what give here, anyone else experience this anomaly????

pretty weird....

thanks...
