Hi,

By a mistake I have two WCG accounts (both with same email & CPID) but only one is in the Calculation of "My detailed stats" :-(
What information do you need to correct that?

CPID is something for one account only, it's impossible to have the same in two accounts of the same project. Same goes for email addresses. How do you come to the impression that you have this set-up?

As far as I know (from reading the fora) WCG is the exception to the rule concerning the unique key: it's the userid there. So, it is (theoretically) possible to have the same CPID for two accounts, if they have the same email.

But especially at WCG I would expect even less possibilities of double accounts, as they are far better organised in regard of data security. I just created a second account with my email address and got another CPID: 922ce26d0beaddcb7554293df21ffe68 instead of 999daca9efac06bffb127a67d9c47f12.

So WCG is different in another part, double mail addresses are possible, double names not, just opposite to the usual BOINC concept. BUT the CPID is never the same!

That's why I wrote "theoretically" - I didn't try it out. :-)

I registed to gridrepublic which created a new instead of overtake the old WCG account (which i recorgnised too late) :-(
Now I switched to BAM because it is much better!

My WCG Accounts:

Login: IndianaX
CPID: 941025eeb95d0492e94ca15007c2df40 (Copy & Paste from that account!)

Login: Andy2010
CPID: 941025eeb95d0492e94ca15007c2df40 (Copy & Paste from that account!)

You see, they are identical because both accounts have the same Email.
On other combind-stats pages I see both e.g.: Free-DC you see two entries for WCG

The problem is on the WCG site. Their policy is that the Username should be unique and the CPID not. This is just the opposite of the rest of the BOINC world.
This is because they still not fully integrated their old UD-client setup to the Boinc setup.

IMO the only thing you can do is ask the techs on the WCG site if they can merge your newest Andy2010 account into your oldest IndianaX account.

I asked this over @WCG, as it seems to be something on their side:

Thx Saenger, but looks like they are not very cooperative.
Are there so big differences between WCG and rest of BOINC?

Offensichtlich, leider

WCD was there without BOINC before, using their own client (UD), so some things originate in "ancient" history. I'm no programmer, so I can't say why they are so reluctant to really adopt BOINC and keep such a lot of this old stuff that's not helping their crunchers.

@Willy:

WCG has something else severely non-BOINC: they split CPIDs all over the XML under different internal IDs and names. I don't know whether it's just this one here.
I looked in the current user.xml and found both entries far apart but with the same CPID.
How do you deal with such doubles?
Have it ever thought about that possibility?
Is it possible to do something to correct the wrong behaviour of WCG?

It's simple: the CPID is supposed to be unique. When the XML file is imported and there are duplicate CPID's then only the first one will be imported, the next one(s) can't be imported because they violate the unique key.

Hi,

I am facing the same issue on WCG - same CPID, 2 usernames and 2 accounts, only one of which is shown in my combined stats on BAM. An email to the WCG admin elicited the following response -

"Unfortunately, member statistics may not be combined. However, if you have the same email address on both member names, all of your statistics will be combined at the various BOINC statistic sites. Here is one example of a BOINC statistics site:

Willy - will adding an exception for WCG be difficult? Other sites seem to be able to do this.

Thanks,
Suneet

that's not the question - why would someone want to quirk things for one single project that simply refuses to play by the rules like every other project?

yes, i do know that WCG insists on running their own system and is simply borging hosts in BOINC-world.

I will not do this. There are almost a hundred projects now. They have to follow BOINC code. I'm not building exceptions, there will be no end.

You can either reactivate my old thread @WCG or start a new one.
In any case, the posting of the right link here will perhaps get you some other posters in the thread as company.

I wanted to respond there, but I got a little aggressive by reading the comments of two of the "admins". Also, they clearly stated that I'm wrong so I think they're unwilling to listen to me. Since I have a good relationship with Kevin I'll leave it at that.
