http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/detail/289009519/charts (EXTBEDROOM) shows under my Host List but has 0 recent credits as if this host has not been getting any credits since March 29th, but it has been working with its 16 cores and dual Titan Xs. For example, looking at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7916726&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid= shows SETI@Home tasks finished & credited to the machine named EXTBEDROOM. Pretty much the same story with 40+ projects this host is churning on. However, clicking on the BStats icon on SETI@Home for this host, I am led to http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/detail/763242369081aeaef85b26dbc2dfd9a3; clearly this is not the host I am looking at in my Host List even though both belong to me & are named EXTBEDROOM, but it actually has all the "missing" credits since March 29th.

So, seems something happened back in late March. And, I think I know what happened: I had replaced the very original EXTBEDROOM physically with a newer machine a while back, and had named the new box EXTBEDROOM2. Then, I installed another GPU into the new machine, totally reinstalled the OS, renamed the old EXTBEDROOM to GARAGE, and the new EXTBEDROOM2 to EXTBEDROOM. Seems all the projects picked up on that, yet on BStats, the name EXTBEDROOM associated with the old CPID carried on (even though its new reincarnation as GARAGE is also under my Host List with a new CPID, correctly), receiving no credit, but all the AcctMgr updates from the new EXTBEDROOM got associated with the old CPID, making it look like it is alive, but not earning any credits. So, a mess.

So, Willy, seems like somehow the old http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/detail/289009519/overview and the new http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/detail/763242369081aeaef85b26dbc2dfd9a3 need to be merged. Or, much simpler and more correctly than merging, the new machine should show up in my Host List (and the Acct Mgr updates from the current host should account towards the new host, not the old host), and the old machine should just be an old inactive machine just like all my old machines instead of pretending to be an active one that is not doing any work.

Tuna

PS: By the way, I am not worried about my total credits since it seems both hosts are correctly owned by me, even though the wrong one seems alive, so all the new credits must be already getting credited to me. Correct?

Host management will drive you crazy; it's usually done by merging at the project sites. However, there are a few projects like WCG that don't allow merging or have very strict rules for doing so, which can complicate things.

This is not about host merging at project sites. I did all that back in March. The projects see all my machines properly. Only at BS, the acct mgr updates from the new host get counted against the old host while the credits go properly to the new host. That causes only the old host to show up on Host List page here on BS with 0 recent credits instead of the new host with the proper recent credits. I hope this was a simpler summary compared to my previous lengthy convoluted description...

Everything under http://boincstats.com/en/stats/ is based on what the projects send to BS in their XML files. If the problem lies solely in the stats then there's not much I can do. There is also no possibility of merging two host at BOINCstats, that needs to be done by the projects and propagated through the XML files.

If there is a problem linking a host under https://boincstats.com/en/bam/hosts/ to a host under http://boincstats.com/en/stats/ I could look at that but any changed I'd make would probably be overwritten as soon as the hosts reconnects.

Did you did a fresh install of BOINC on the new bedroom machine or did you copy the old installation and installed over it?

While researching the issue to respond to you in detail, I discovered something even more horrible: SETI and a few other projects I quickly looked (possibly all) are using the exact same CPID for two totally unrelated machines. One is the new reincarnation of EXTBEDROOM, but the other is an old laptop in one corner of my garage, churning slowly. There is no commonality between these machines, they weren't even set up at the same time, not even close, and both set up totally from scratch, off of reformatted storage, without copying over any BOINC data whatsoever. Unfortunately, I'll be away from home for a few weeks, so I will have to get back to this then. In the meantime, if anybody has an idea as to how one would get into this state, and how to get out of it, I am all ears.
