Another attach / detach problem. On my host apr2011 (updated today to BOINC 7.0.28) when attaching to BAM! I get no result. The last line of the communication with BAM! is:

1-7-2012 17:26:46 | http://bam.boincstats.com/ | Bericht van de account manager: transient HTTP error.

The host is currently listed twice in my hostlist:

332368 apr2011 7.0.25 2012-06-12 / 12:58:17
388691 apr2011 7.0.25 2012-06-17 / 12:01:11

Can provide the full acct_mgr_request.xml when needed. The acct_mgr_reply.xml is 0 bytes and there's no acct_mgr_login.xml.

Edit: the same host has troubles to report the completed tasks of some projects (SIMAP, Docking, SETI Beta). Uploading is no problem, but reporting eventually leads to:
1-7-2012 17:43:37 | boincsimap | [http] [ID#1] Info: Operation too slow. Less than 2 bytes/sec transferred the last 300 seconds
1-7-2012 17:43:37 | boincsimap | [http] [ID#1] Info: Closing connection #2
1-7-2012 17:43:37 | boincsimap | [http] HTTP error: Timeout was reached

Other projects (WCG, Distrigen) have no problems.

I'm logging all BAM! requests and I'm not finding any recent requests from this host on either id's.

Since it also has problems with projects, it might by a connection problem of the host itself.

On the other hand, errors in the BAM! rpc code cause the same error. But then it would do that with all hosts.

It needs to make a correct connection to BAM! first. If it doesn't BAM! won't respond either.

Boinctasks (1.35) is giving a Error -199:

I've posted this also on their forum to check if it is BT-related...

Tried to join BAM with Boinc Manager in stead of Boinctasks: same result
Found another thread at SIMAP, claiming it could be the F-Secure Firewall. Will try to replace F-secure with Avira, to see if that's making a difference....

Definitely a problem with firewall. Uninstalling F-secure (and disabling Windows Firewall) did the trick. BAM! makes the connection and all the ready tasks from the projects are reported.
Case closed!
Reminder to myself: do install a proper firewall

Isn't it possible to enter an exception in F-secure for some outside connections like BAM!?

I did exclude both the exe and the boinc-directories from scanning/checking, at least that's what I thought. Maybe I overlooked something, don't wanna spend much time on the very fuzzy interface of F-secure. Maybe some other user of F-secure can give me the golden tip...
