You can try going to the Project/Project's and try Merging the 2 Computers, it should let you do that ... We really should have a way of clearing our Computer List here at BOINCstats, I show over 160 Computers when I've never had over 15 ...

You should clear the list project-side! If they are deleted here the next XML update will reinstate them here.

I recently Detached from all Project's that I wasn't running, probably not the same as clearing them project-side. But if I'm not attached to the Project anymore should it be picking up computers for me from there ? I also awhile back did Detach all Computers from a lot of the Project's but my Host list never went down any, it just keeps climbing even though I'm not adding any new Computers to any Project's other than the ones I already have.

Could be as I update to newer BOINC Client Versions New Hosts are Created ? Or their from Project's that have closed down with no way of getting rid of them anymore ?

When i upgraded BOINC on some hosts to version 6.10.43 every host got a new CPID (from versions 6.4.x). I updated all attached projects in the Boinc manager and the cpids are updated for the hosts in the projects (with the exception of projects that are offline, e.g. ramsey and cels, or that i detached).

There is nothing i can do at the projects (beside updating the projects in Boinc manager), as no host appears twice in a project. So it's a "problem" in the boinc combined stats host list (but not a real problem for me).

More curious is that my notebook gets a new cpid every day. Maybe that's because i use it at office and at home (and then most time with an active vpn). So a reason for the new host cpids could be the different ip addresses, but that wasn't the case with the previous boinc versions.

Detaching leaves the host entry in place at the project. You have to manually delete them.

Be carefull with deleting old hosts.

Somewhere in the past FreeHAL server was rebuild from a backup, but the user total credits was calculated by summing his known hosts.

Out of the blue tenthousands of credits disappeared from my total, because I thought months before, let's clean FreeHAL's database a bit by deleting an old host, that I sold meanwhile. Let's hope FreeHAL is an exception.

I only delete zero-credit hosts... But then again, I'm not OCD with the host credit like some people. As long as my projects line up, I'm good.
